Visit Nice with an outdoor escape game

Welcome to Nice, France !

Nice to meet you, I’m Tiffany, a lover of Nice. I’ve always been from the south, because I was born in Cannes, the city of the film festival.

Nice, the jewel of the French Riviera, is often seen as a glamorous destination for sun-seekers and luxury enthusiasts. But beyond its iconic Promenade des Anglais and bustling beaches lies a city full of local charm, hidden treasures, and authentic experiences waiting to be discovered. Here’s how you can immerse yourself in Nice like a local and uncover its true essence.  I want you to discover it as I see it.

Discover Nice Without Fear of Missing Out

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the fear of missing out on the best spots or experiences when visiting a new city. That’s why I’ve created a treasure hunt to discover the city of Nice in the best possible way. You’ll discover places unknown to the locals, anecdotes about each place you visit and details you don’t necessarily see. The game lasts 2 hours and allows you to discover a large part of the city center. And it’s all in good fun, as your aim is to find a stolen work of art hidden somewhere in Nice. And don’t worry, you won’t be alone – I’ll be staying at a distance to help you if you need it.

« The mysterious robbery » becomes the perfect solution. This activity not only guides you through the heart of Nice but also shares fascinating anecdotes about the city’s history and culture, offering a unique perspective. Best of all, you’ll enjoy this adventure exclusively with your own group, avoiding the hassle of following a guide in large crowds where it’s hard to hear or engage. It’s an ideal way to combine exploration, fun, and privacy.

Explore Neighborhoods Off the Beaten Path

While Old Town (Vieux Nice) is undeniably charming with its narrow streets and colorful facades, there’s more to Nice than this popular area. Venture into the Libération district, a vibrant neighborhood where locals shop, dine, and socialize. The Marché de Libération is one of the city’s best markets, offering fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, and regional specialties. Grab a coffee at a nearby café and enjoy people-watching as the city’s rhythm unfolds around you.

Another must-visit area is the Port of Nice. This picturesque harbor is less crowded than the Promenade and offers a mix of trendy bars, authentic seafood restaurants, and stunning views of yachts and fishing boats. Stroll along Rue Bonaparte, known as the “Petit Marais” of Nice, for its hip boutiques and eclectic dining spots. If you like brunch, you have to go to « Le Clay« . The place is Instagramable and the food is very good with fresh products.

Indulge in Local Cuisine

Eating like a local means going beyond the typical tourist menus. Start your culinary journey with socca, a thin, crispy chickpea pancake that’s a local staple. The best socca is often found at small, unassuming eateries such as Chez Pipo near the port or Chez Théresa on the market flowers on the Cours Saleya.

Don’t miss out on salade niçoise, a refreshing mix of tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, anchovies, and olives. For a heartier meal, try daube niçoise, a slow-cooked beef stew with Provençal flavors. The restaurant Gesù, in the old town, is excellent to eat this local meal.

To satisfy your sweet tooth, stop by a local patisserie for a slice of tourte de blettes, a surprising but delightful chard pie that combines sweet and savory elements.

Travel Sustainably and Respectfully

Lastly, remember that visiting like a local means respecting the city and its residents. Use public transportation, shop at local businesses, and avoid crowded tourist hotspots during peak hours. By doing so, you’ll not only reduce your impact but also enjoy a more authentic and fulfilling experience.

Nice isn’t just a postcard-perfect destination; it’s a living, breathing city with a soul. By stepping off the beaten path and embracing its local culture, you’ll discover a side of Nice that few tourists ever see.
